Endof
Treatment
Party
On 16 December 2017, 30 participants
comprising nine CCF beneficiaries and
their families came together to celebrate a
significant milestone - the End of Treatment,
at the CCF Community Office in Novena.
They were warmly greeted by CCF childhood
cancer survivors Sheam Kannan and Gloria
Leong, who were emcees for the day. The
theme for the celebration party was “Dancing
in theRain”.
The families participated in a round of
icebreaker “Bingo”. After the icebreaker,
each family worked together to paint their
family umbrella. Family members had to
reflect on how they braved the cancer
journey as a household, before incorporating
these reflections in their umbrella design.
Participants then sharedwith fellowattendees
their experiences and encouraging words of
appreciation for their familymembers.
As with all End of Treatment parties, the
highlight of the event was the presentation
of trophies to CCF beneficiaries by the
caregivers– a tangible and durable reminder
of their courageous fight against cancer.
The ceremony also served as a platform for
caregivers to commend their child.
Thereafter, attendees mingled with one
another and engaged in hearty conversations
over lunch.
Clutching their goodie bags and beautifully
designed umbrellas, CCF beneficiaries and
their families slowly vacated the premiseswith
smiles aplenty. CCF would like to thank the
beneficiaries, caregivers and volunteers for
making thisEndof Treatment party a success!
