treated to a beautiful evening skyline of Singapore as
they engaged in lively conversations with like-minded
individuals over buffet dinner.

to contribute back to the society.
CCF Executive Director Ms Neo Lay Tin welcomed and
thanked the guests for believing in our cause and for
making a positive difference in the lives of children with
cancer and their families.
Quoting Mother Teresa, Ms Neo said: “There is a deep
joy in giving, since what we receive is much more than
what we give.” She hoped that in giving, everyone would
in turn be inspired by the children’s courage, resilience
and fighting spirit.
13-year-oldbeneficiaryJadynCai captivated theaudience
with her fluid and graceful Samba dance performance
in the opening performance. This was followed by
the presentation of the CCF Philanthropy Awards to
49 individual and corporate partners by CCF Patron,
AssociateProfessor HoPengKee.
The CCF Community Partnerships team then took to
the stage to hand-sign and sing a heartfelt rendition of
“Imagine Me Without You”, to express their gratitude to
the donors, volunteers and community partnerswho have
contributed immensely to the success of CCF.
CCF staff from the Specialist Clinic and Affected Child
teams put up a combined visual arts and song item
“Go the Distance” from the Disney movie “Hercules”.
We acknowledged our partners for going the distance
to support and encourage our beneficiaries to realise
their potential.
CCF volunteers were also honoured for giving of their
time, efforts and talents in support of childrenwith cancer.
CCF Chairman, Mr Ho Cheng Huat, presented the CCF
Volunteerism Awards to dedicated volunteers for their
long service and contributions in 2016.
Nine-year-old CCF beneficiary Yasmine LynnAnuar then
performed two piano pieces titled “Arietta” by Muzio
Clementi and a moderate blues item called “Light and
Blue”. Music played a major role in Yasmine’s road to
recovery in2013, after she took uppiano lessons towards
the end of her treatment.
Following this, CCF beneficiary Stefanie Loh shared her
self-composed song, “Love. Faith. Hope.” During her stay
in the hospital ward, Stefanie found her voice inmusic as
she wrote tunes in her head. The inspiration for the song
came from the journey shewent through and friends who
have been through similar experiences.
The programme concluded with a heartwarming video
montage put together by CCF staff from the Hospital
teams at KKH and NUH. Before the evening drew to
a close, we captured the spirited atmosphere with a
group photo.
On behalf of the CCF staff and beneficiaries, we would
like to thank all volunteers, donors and partners for their
steadfast and selfless contributions.
“I had so much fun at the appreciation night. The
performances by the beneficiaries were awesome, … the
piano and the Samba pieces were just mind-blowing! I
wish them all the best and I would also like to thank CCF
for their efforts in acknowledging volunteers like myself.”
