Children’sDayCelebrations!
Volunteers from Pause for a Cause dressed up as Spiderman
and Power Ranger during their visit to CCF@NUH on
6 October 2017 to spring a surprise for our children. The
superheroes handed out colourful balloons to children at the
playroom and patiently posedwith them in front of the camera.
On 7October 2017, the children were treated to amagic show
and balloon sculpting session. They watched in awe as the
magician performed his tricks, including a fork-bending illusion
anddisappearing red-coloured sponge balls.
Before calling it a day, the children stood in line and waited for
their turn to receive a balloon sculpture of their choice, which
was either their favourite animal or cartoon character.
Special thanks tovolunteer groupPause foraCause forbringing
smiles to our beneficiaries!
Let’scelebrateDeepavali!
Agroupof youth volunteers fromSINDAvisitedNUHand
KKH on 13 and 17October 2017 respectively. The youth
volunteers, together with our children, made traditional

of Deepavali.
Deepavali, or the festival of lights, is known for traditions
such as flower garlands, rangoli, oil lamps and of course
Indian sweets.
The children were given the tools and guided through the
activities by the volunteers. Although some children found it
challenging tostring theflowers intobraceletsor necklaces, they
insisted on completing the taskswith their little hands.
The children were also given a brief introduction to the special
celebration, as well as an insight into the customs and traditions
of the Festival of Light. The session came to an end after each
child receivedaDeepavali goodie bag from the volunteers.
We thank thevolunteers fromSINDA for spreading festivecheer
