FamilyTherapy
Family is an important pillar of support and strength for
family members, but relationships between members can
sometimes break down in the presence of extreme stressors
such as a family member experiencing a life-threatening
condition. Family Therapy helps family members to
understand and cope better with the stressors by supporting
them in reviewing the nature of the difficulties and facilitating
a heightened insight on the relational context that produces
the presenting issue in the family. A Family Therapist helps
family members process their emotions and thoughts
resulting from pre-existing relationship issues, and provides
an avenue for them to express it safely to the people who
matter and are significant to them.
