ANDSUPPORT (PALS)
As part of theBack-to-School Service to facilitatea child’s smooth transition in
returning to school, Place for Academic Learning and Support (PALS) serves
as a transitional platform to bridge the learning gap between the treatment
phase and normal schooling routine.
Operating in an infection-controlled environment, PALS also provides an
educational pathway that addresses the physical, academic, social and
emotional needs of the students. Since its opening in November 2012, PALS
has servedmore than 120 children and youths.
Recognising the importance for children to stay physically and mentally
active in their overall general well-being, PALS incorporated a weekly
physical education plan into the preschool curriculum in 2015 to strengthen
the children’s motor skills and promote healthy habits through fun activities.
An Active Learning Programme was also introduced to help Primary and
Secondary students develop their thinking and analytical skills through
innovative activities.
